Meet the Kingdom Sports KC Basketball Directors

Tyler Johnson
Boys Director

I’ve enjoyed playing basketball my whole life. I played competitively growing up and also played varsity at Blue Springs High School. I continued to play for fun in various rec leagues over the years.

Recently, I’ve found a passion for coaching. I enjoy helping kids grow and develop skills while ultimately pointing them back to honoring God and finding greater purpose. At my current job I’m a Manager of Development at an IT company. I enjoy spending time with my family and playing all the sports for fun with my three young kids.

Sidney Marlborough
Girls Director

Sidney Marlborough brings a wealth of experience as an athlete, leader, coach, and mentor, with a passion for using sports to positively impact athletes and families.

After competing in volleyball and basketball at the high school level, Sidney continued her basketball career at the University of Tennessee, where she played under legendary Hall of Fame coach Pat Summit and was part of a National Championship team. Her career then took her to the professional level, where she competed in the WNBA and overseas for seven years before eventually making Kansas City home.

Today, Sidney uses those experiences to encourage and develop the next generation. Alongside her husband, Bryan, she plays an integral role with Complete Strength, assisting with all aspects of the organization while helping create an environment centered on development, encouragement, accountability, and purpose.

Sidney has a particular passion for mentoring women and young athletes. Her goal goes beyond helping athletes improve physically or succeed in competition. She wants them to develop confidence, pursue their goals, and understand that their identity and worth are ultimately rooted in who God created them to be.

Through Kingdom Sports, Sidney brings elite-level playing experience, a championship mindset, and a heart for Christ-centered mentorship to help young athletes grow both on and off the court.
